Johnny Parker

Hi I'm Johnny Parker from Liverpool, England and I'm a Writer and Film Maker. 

I'm interested in how the world is changing and like to write about it all with a little wit and humour - but perhaps that's for others to judge!

I've written a children's picture book in collaboration with my partner Andrea, called 'The Lazy Seagull'. It's about a young Seagull who is too lazy to get out of his nest and expects his mother to bring him fish all day, even when a storm blows his nest from a cliff to a car park and mum is nowhere to be seen! Published by Plantapress it's available to pre-order in time for Christmas from Waterstones.

The newly opened Museum of Liverpool have displayed two quotes from one of my stories in the The Peoples Gallery: "Look past the shining new towers, and gleaming new shopping malls to see what beats underneath" and "What is it that makes Liverpool so different? It can only be the people."

My filmmaking credits include the Wirral Film Festival 2008 Best Short Film - Beauty and the Butcher  a romantic comedy short. I also won Liverpool Film Night in 2010 for a short documentary made with Tim Brunsden about people losing their communities to 'Urban Regeneration' - 'An Englishman's Home'.
